Donald Trump mused if his father is in heaven ‘not 100% sure’ at New York rally

Former President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, 78, addressed a crowd of around 20,000 at Madison Square Garden, reflecting on his father’s legacy and expressing doubt about whether his late father, Fred Trump, had made it to heaven.
Trump speculated on how his father would react to the numerous investigations he now faces, suggesting his father would wonder, “How the hell did this happen to my son?”
Trump told the crowd he faces more investigations than even “the great Al Capone”, referring to the infamous American gangster.
“He’s looking down at me right now, saying, ‘How the hell did this happen to my son? He’s not a bad person,’” Trump said, humorously adding that while he’s sure his mother is in heaven, he’s “not 100% sure” of his father but thinks “it’s close”—a comment met with laughter from the audience.
At the rally, Trump also shared his journey into real estate, starting with a “small loan” of $1 million from his father. “I had to pay him back with interest,” he noted.
The former president, who has repeatedly denied all charges against him, faces multiple criminal and civil cases, including ones related to overturning the 2020 election, paying hush money to adult film star Stormy Daniels, and mishandling classified documents.
Additionally, he was ordered to pay $454 million in a New York civil fraud case and $5 million in a defamation suit filed by writer Jean Carroll.
With the election just days away on November 5, Trump emphasised his commitment to “straightening out our country” and assured his supporters of his character, saying, “I’m a good person,” to resounding applause from the crowd.
